Chris Ahrenkiel
Executive Vice President, Development
Chris Ahrenkiel, Executive Vice President at Selig Enterprises, is credited for developing some of Atlanta’s most notable office buildings, breaking city sales records and working to attract or expand some of the city’s largest employers.
Ahrenkiel leads Selig’s office division, focusing on office development and leasing for the Atlanta-based company. Ahrenkiel spent much of his efforts on Selig’s recently delivered tri-tower mixed-use project in Midtown, 1105 West Peachtree, which was the largest project under construction in Atlanta, where he led negotiations with Google, which committed to an over 500,000 square feet lease bringing thousands of jobs to Atlanta’s core. He also played a role in transforming Atlanta’s Upper Westside through recruiting new businesses to The Works, an 80-acre mixed-use development.
Chris spends a lot of time representing Selig in the community, which is one of his passions. He serves on the Board of Directors of Invest Atlanta (vice chair), the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Atlanta, the ACBR (executive committee), Central Atlanta Progress, the Buckhead Coalition, the AR-PAC Board of Trustees, the Committee for a Better Atlanta, and is a founding member and treasurer of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Foundation. In 2017, he graduated Leadership Atlanta and remains actively involved. Ahrenkiel was awarded the ACBR’s President’s Award and REALTOR of the Year, was named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 as well as the publication’s Who’s Who in Commercial Real Estate lists, and is consistently recognized as one of Atlanta’s 500 most powerful leaders by Atlanta Magazine.
Prior to joining Selig, Ahrenkiel served as Atlanta’s managing director for Tishman Speyer, overseeing the firm’s regional activities. He was responsible for the development of Three Alliance Center in Buckhead, which set an Atlanta pricing record.
